Making of tricolored cat’s drawing with short hair brushes
Hair brushes and short hair brushes are the following 6 types.
You can swap brushes with different concentration,
density and length for fine density adjustment and gradation.
Adjust the angle according to the flow of hair.
※Adjusting the direction is essential to master this brush.
Remember the direction number to easily use the brush.
※⑥Hair (edge_white border) brush is not affected by direction
So first draw a draft of a white wolf.
It will make a drawing better when referring to photos and real-life thing (cat),
rather than painting without any referring.
Using a “hair (edge)” brush, trace the outline of the draft.
Draw line directly on ears where with small amount of hair.
The outline is completed with one stroke all at once.
“The edge brush” also contains a white background.
Take inside selection area.
Complete the background by fill in white color.
Make a new layer and draw the center of eyes and nose of the picture.
Make a new layer and paint the shade of the darkest part with “Hair (black)” brush.
Because the flow of facial hair is very complicated,
so do it while changing the direction of the brush.
By separating the layers for each part (as long as the layers number can be understood),
it is convenient for editing later.
“Hair (black) edge_short” brush reinforces fine tiger hair on eyes, nose, mouth and other.
Create a new layer, draw brown hair by using “Hair (basic), hair (thick) and hair (coarse)”.
The eyes are surrounded by hair like a circle.
Let’s change brush direction number to “0”.
Also shade around the nose and under the eyes.
Continue to shade the body part.

It looks hard work but you can complete work with brush stroke only.
Hold “Ctrl” and click on the layer of the white background to take selction area.
Shading can be done easily without worrying about out of line if you use the selection area.
White background is very useful, let’s make use of it positively.
Create a new layer, add white to the whole ears and the light of the eyes.
Draw whiskers, it is completed.
Here is the final composition.
Separate the layers for each step for this time but,
the number of layers that can be understood yourself is okay.
If you use hair brush like this,
even heavy work also possible to shorten the time dramatically.
At first you might need to get used to the brush’s direction function,
but even the high-density drawing will be pleasantly without burden once you get use to it.
